NEWGRANGE TRI-SPIRAL - An original artwork

If you have ever been lucky enough to get into the chamber at Newgrange, no doubt you would have spotted the tri-spiral design carved into one of the stones. This is probably the most well know Irish megalithic symbol & is a source of inspiration for many people around the world. Wouldn't you just love to know who carved it & what it means? Its also kind of cool just letting your imagination wander & come up with your own interpretation.

It is hand felted using merino, bamboo, soybean & recycled sari silk wool in a variety of beautiful blues, pinks, purples & greens. This is a textured piece & is hand embellished with beads.

One of a kind but please contact me if you would like something similar made. If this particular piece is sold a similar one will be handmade for you. Due to the nature of felt making, no two will be identical & the positioning of textures & silks will be different but the same lovely colour scheme will be used.

Hand felted using water, olive oil soap, friction & time.

Frame size - 43 x 43 cm    Artwork size approx - 36 x 36 cm

Limed white wooden box frame, handmade in Ireland. The artwork is hand sewn onto the backing board so it will not move. The frame is ready to hang.

Please check out my fb & instagram page for a wee video of it.

Each piece is one of a kind & handcrafted in my home studio in the heart of the Boyne Valley, Slane, Co. Meath.
